We are a group of gardeners and horticulturists who love writing and sharing our knowledge and experience about growing plants, flowers as well as everything else that is related to gardening.

Annette Hird

Horticulturist and Avid Gardener

Annette Hird has an Associate Diploma of Applied Science in Horticulture. In the past, she has worked in a variety of production nurseries, primarily as a propagator. She has also been responsible for the care of a large homestead garden including lawn care, fruit trees, roses and many other ornamental plants.

More recently, Annette has concentrated on improving the garden landscape of the homes that she has lived in and focused a lot of energy into growing edible plants as well. She has also spent a lot of time researching how to grow succulents and other houseplants and has written many articles to share her knowledge with others.

Julianne Robyn Dela Cruz

Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Agriculture

Julianne Robyn is a degree holder of Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Agriculture majoring in Horticulture. She is a post-harvest science specialist by vocation and is also an enthusiast of ornamental blooms by heart. She advocates for sustainable agriculture and local farmer empowerment while working her way to establish farm dreams of her own. 

Olivia Tjosvold

Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree in English

Olivia Tjosvold is a degree holder of Bachelor of Arts in English. Born and raised in rural Canada, she has an abundance of expertise in agriculture, horticulture, gardening, and household plant care. She has worked with companies around the world with the primary goal of sharing the best gardening information out there. While writing and editing is her specialty, gardening is an immensely important part of her life.

Alexandra Hsiu-Chu Hill

Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Marine Biology and Coastal Ecology

Alexandra Hsiu-Chu Hill is a degree holder of Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Marine Biology and Coastal Ecology. She is an enthusiastic gardener and loves researching the plants in her garden. Her favorite plant is the Tropical Hibiscus, she currently has five varieties and plans to grow more.

Sally Foster

Bachelor of Laws (LLB)

Sally Foster is a law graduate who has spent over 25 years working in agriculture, viticulture and horticulture in France and the UK.  Passionate about plants, Sally has experience of growing in both open soil and greenhouse settings. She continues to offer tips and share her experience with others via her farm shop in France.  

Angeline Lacson

Angeline Lacson

Master of Science (MSc) in Marine Biological Resources

Angeline Lacson is a marine biologist with an obsession for terrestrial plants. She’s as passionate about garden cultivation as she is about marine conservation. Her favorite plants are flowering cacti and rosette succulents. She has grown and propagated more than 200 varieties of these plants in her own backyard. 

Angeline is a published researcher whose educational career focused largely on aquaculture and sustainability. She recognizes the need to make choices that benefit the environment each day. She sees the value of nature in all things and feels most at home when surrounded by wildlife. Sometimes, she dreams of having her own conservatory and botanical garden.

Catrina Yeldon

Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Natural Resource Management specializing is sustainable production practices and land and water management

Catrina is a researcher, a writer, and life-long learner. Her work focuses on the human relationship with plants and nature. When she is not spending time in her garden or reading about heirloom plant varieties, she advocates for open-source seed reform and spends a lot of time walking through the city with her dog Mia appreciating all the unique ruderal, i.e. urban, plants.

April Karla Conde

Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Biology, major in Plant Systematics

April Karla Conde is a degree holder of Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Biology majoring in Plant Systematics. She also underwent technical training in Organic Agriculture Production. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Environmental Science, and advocates for sustainable agriculture and empowering the youth to engage in farming. She is also part of a team designing ecotourism landscapes and permaculture hubs.
